GLOSSARY

ANOREXIA: a serious physical and emotional illness in which an abnormal fear of being fat leads to very poor eating habits and dangerous weight loss.

BULIMIA: a serious physical and emotional illness in which people and especially young women eat large amounts of food and then cause themselves to vomit in order to not gain weight.


EATING DISORDER:  any of several psychological disorders (as anorexia nervosa or bulimia) characterized by serious disturbances of eating behavior.


ANXIETY:  a feeling of wanting to do something very much.


DEPRESS: to decrease the activity or strength of (something).


ANOREXIA NERVOSA: a serious disorder in eating behavior primarily of young women in their teens and early twenties that is characterized especially by a pathological fear of weight gain leading to faulty eating patterns, malnutrition, and usually excessive weight loss.


ALOPECIA:  loss of hair.


ANEMIAa condition in which a person has fewer red blood cells than normal and feels very weak and tired.


ANA: The name the people call anorexia.


SELF-ESTEEM a feeling of having respect for yourself and your abilities.
